2023 we moved our location to the barn on the church property at 362 Indian Trail Road, just up the street from Redeemer Classical School (our previous meeting place). We sing both traditional and contemporary hymns. We pray for our community, our church, and the world. We read portions of Scripture and hear a sermon that relates God’s Word to our lives. Each week our worship culminates in the Eucharist, a celebratory feast open to all baptized Christians to celebrate God's work in our lives and our world through Jesus. Originally from Haughton, Louisiana, he spent nearly ten years in the Cajun country of Baton Rouge and New Orleans, LA. He graduated from Louisiana State University and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary before making a cross-country move to Massachusetts. There he attended Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. Prior to becoming pastor at Lamb, Kevin served as one of the pastors at CrossPoint Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, LA, and as Pastoral Resident at our mother church, Church of the Incarnation, in Harrisonburg. children to encounter God . . . . . . grow in affection for him, and experience his abundant life. Our community breathes life into these desires in four ways: Being an intergenerational community Practicing liturgical rhythms Baptizing and serving Eucharist to children Giving children the story of Scripture through our children’s ministry approach, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS). We offer 3 levels of CGS and a youth gathering: Level 1: Ages 3–6 Level 2: Ages 6–9 Youth: Ages 10–18 — Older Children and youth gather to eat, to pray and to savor Scripture. The goals of our meetings are to continue in the ways of our childhood faith to embrace the Lord Jesus. We intentionally prepare our youth for confirmation once they are 18. Our Scripture Meditations focus on the Lord's presence in the Kingdom of God, our community here at Lamb, and the Holy Eucharist. We use the Bible, the Book of Common Prayer, journaling and time for personal meditation reflections which include construction projects, art response, and assisting with worship and the life of the Abbey. The age ranges for the levels overlap. Parents work with the Children’s Ministry Director, Renee Velker, to find the best fit for each child.
